Come winter and we start stocking up on all types of lip balm. Not that we don’t use lip balm for rest of the year, but during winter, it becomes all the more important. Lip balms with cute packaging appeals to me more. Recently I noticed some VLCC Lovable Lips lip balms in a shop. I could not turn a blind eye to their super cute packaging and picked up couple of them – VLCC Lovable Lips Strawberry and Rose Lip Balm.

VLCC Lovable Lips Strawberry and Rose Lip Balm comes packed with the goodness of natural ingredients, like jojoba oil extract, vitamin E and almond oil to nourish the lips and keep them soft, supple and hydrated. My experience with VLCC Lovable Lips Strawberry and Rose Lip Balm

VLCC Lovable Lips Strawberry and Rose Lip Balm has lipstick like twist-up packaging. The tube has clear plastic cap that shuts with a click and protects the lip balm well. The lip balms have cardboard outer packaging that bears all the product related information. But I am not impressed with the quality of plastic that the company has used for packaging. It looks little fragile and might not survive any fall.

VLCC Lovable Lips Strawberry Lip Balm has red colored bullet, while the Rose Lip Balm has purple colored bullet. Both the lip balms are tinted. While the Strawberry Lip Balm is quite hard, the texture of the Rose one is soft and smooth. However, the lip balms glide smoothly and gives off nice tint to the lips. VLCC Lovable Lips Strawberry Lip Balm appears slight reddish orange on the lips and the Rose Lip Balm gives nice rosy-pink tint to the lips. Talking about the fragrance, the Strawberry one has mild strawberry scent but the Rose Lip Balm smells like some cheap lipstick.

VLCC Lovable Lips Strawberry and Rose Lip Balm has decent pigmentation and gives good tint in just one-two swipes. Both the lip balms are non sticky and don’t give any waxy or greasy feeling to the lips. They work nicely as sheer lipsticks. Lets talk about the efficacy now. VLCC Lovable Lips Strawberry and Rose Lip Balm provides mild hydration to the lips. They don’t provide long lasting moisturization, neither they heal chapped lips. In fact these lip balms accentuate dryness and fine lines on the lips. Naturally the staying power is very low and one needs to keep on reapplying the lip balm again and again.

Overall, VLCC Lovable Lips Strawberry and Rose Lip Balm has beautiful color, but as lip balms, they are very ordinary. The hydration and moisturizing power is low and I certainly won’t recommend them for winter. However, these lip balms come with SPF 15 and can be handy in summer.
