With an eye to grab a nourishing herbal powder to cosset my crowning glory, I stepped in my neighboring Khadi store. Braving hordes of elbowing shoppers, I finally grabbed a pack of Khadi SRL Bramhi Powder. I had heard rave reviews of it courtesy a few relatives of mine, so picked it in the twinkling of an eye. My experience with Khadi SRL Bramhi Powder

Packed in a cardboard box, with a plastic pack inside containing the main ingredient (that is, Brahmi powder), Khadi SRL Brahmi Powder is a bit disappointing in terms of packaging. Once opened, the content has to be necessarily transferred to a container since it is susceptible to spillage or contamination (dirt and dust might enter the package thereby, affecting its quality adversely). Also, it is clearly not travel-friendly. Had it come in sachets or as a pack with a zipper, all these problems would have not arisen. On the whole, the packaging of Khadi SRL Brahmi Powder is a put-off.

The main ingredient is finely powdered with the fragrance being mild and earthy. I don’t think it would irk someone unless the quantity used is in excess. Coming to the already extolled virtues of Brahmi powder for hair, it is no secret that it is beneficial for?thickening one’s hair?while prevention (and not cure) of split ends. Only a pair of scissors can get you rid of split ends not any herbal remedy or store-bought shampoo/conditioner. How can it? Once a hair strand has diverged from the parent strand, how can it go back? Expecting it to go back would be same as standing out in 45 degrees and thinking that the sun would dry out your sweat!! Naive to a less extent and daft to a great extent. Anyway, coming back to the virtues of Brahmi, it coats one’s tresses, in particular one’s hair follicles with a protective shield that lessens damage and split ends.

I use Khadi SRL Brahmi Powder by mixing it with 7-8 tbsp of coconut milk (since I have dry hair) and 2 whole eggs. The eggs provide the much-needed proteins which are the building blocks of our hair while Brahmi powder prevents damage and coconut milk softens my tresses.

I find Brahmi powder apt for use by all hair types. If you have oily hair, substitute coconut milk in the above recipe with lemon juice and milk. If you have normal hair, you can use it as it is 🙂 The results won’t be noticeable in the first few washes since it’s an Ayurvedic product but give it some time to get accustomed to your hair and you’ll be thrilled with the positive results 🙂 I used it for three months last summer dedicatedly and not only did my hair’s volume increase considerably but also it felt calmer and smoother.
