My experience with Rishimukh Sandal Beauty Soap

Packed in a delectable cardboard-made shell-like container, Rishimukh Sandal Beauty Soap looks very eye-pleasing at first glance. The packaging is undoubtedly sturdy and the main soap inset is covered with a plastic pack which ensures its protection from dust, grime and pollutants. Once used, it to be necessarily transferred to a clean soap holder else the soap’s froth and the concomitant water will rumple the cardboard pack and lead to its spoilage. On account of packaging, therefore I don’t find it up to the mark despite its comely appearance.

The soap is slightly thick but can be easily cut into smaller pieces using a knife to prolong its usage. It isn’t waxy or creamy. Bearing a TFM (called TOTAL FATTY MATERIAL) of 72%, Rishimukh sandal beauty soap is in the second grade of soaps. Higher the TFM content of a soap, better is its cleansing effect. Lower the TFM, more is the amount of fillers in it. Since parched/ extremely dry skin is in dire need of intense hydration, I won’ recommend it to them. It cleanses skin effectively thereby removing all the dirt and dust. It cools one’s skin well which will be a boon during blistering summer months. I find it apt for use by normal and oily skin throughout the year but dry skin shouldn’t rely on it during winters since soaps sap moisture.

Even though Rishimukh Sandal Beauty Soap is handmade, I would rather recommend use of herbal bath powder such as- Dhathri snana choornam to those with dry skin during winters if they wish to cleanse their moisture without ripping it off its moisture content. This soap does impart a bit of glow but that is very faint. In fact, if you use herbal bath powders, the effect would be better.

In totality, Rishimukh Sandal Beauty Soap cleanses skin well, removes dirt, cools it and imparts a very subtle glow, however, it cannot be used year round by those with dry skin. Those with extremely dry skin shouldn’t use it at all. It isn’t something to go gaga over but given the price, it does a fine job at cleansing.

About Nidhal Sinha

She is a true-blue Delhi-ite by nature. In spite of having lived in this city which is called "The melting pot" of different cultures, religions, cuisines, and colors, She believe there's always something to be discovered in this city which happens to be a heady cocktail of new and vintage. While she is no fanatic when it comes to skin and hair care, holistic living is more her mantra. Minimalism, she believe has an inexplicable charm and magnetism. By the virtue of having an 'over-the-top' imagination, She love contemplating possibly the most impossible scenarios in her mind. Perhaps, when they say "An idle brain is devil's workshop", they were pinpointing me! When it comes to preening one's appearance, She rely and advocate herbal remedies over quick-fix solutions because that's what She think keeps one BEAUTIFUL HAMESHA :)
