Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder Review

Hello everyone, today I will post the very popular Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder Review. Pressed powders are a must for everyone especially if one has oily skin to take care of the shine on face. Ever since Rimmel has launched few of its products in India I was eager to try them, but they surely have a very limited reach in India and are mostly out of stock everywhere. Out of all the products their Stay Matte Pressed Powder was on the top of my list because of all the rave reviews it had.

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder ReviewSo when I got a chance I quickly ordered it. Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder comes in a simple packaging and a variety of shades but we do not have all the shades available here, and of the very few shades also many of them were not in stock so I went for the shade silky beige.

My Experience with Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder comes in beige colored round compact with a clear lid and details mentioned on the back. Unfortunately it does not come along with any mirror, sponge, brush or other applicator so a brush has to be carried separately. Also the cap of my compact does not fit tightly and comes off easily making it problematic to carry it around.

The shade I have is silky beige and it matches my light o medium skin tone perfectly and does not give white cast, but I doubt if there are any shades for darker skin tones and the shade selection is very limited. The pressed powder is very fine and is tightly packed and does not have any fall outs when picked with a brush. The texture of the pressed powder is smooth and not at all chalky but it is not the silkiest smooth powder I have ever used but is certainly great for the price. It never looks cakey or heavy on face. It has sheer coverage and does not cover anything much but sets all my makeup in place and makes it last little longer.

On application Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder gives me a matte finish and controls the shine and oil instantly and soon settles down to a natural finish, but it is best to avoid using it on the dry patches of face as it highlights them and makes them look obvious. This powder will be most suitable for normal to oily skin since it gives a matte finish. Coming to the main part that is oil control, I have combination oily skin and it keeps my t-zone matte for about 3-4 hours only and after that I have to reapply. I had high expectations from it but it is definitely over hyped and not the best choice for oily skin type looking for a mattifying compact powder that controls oil for long during summers. Also it is not very long staying and requires frequent touch ups every 3-4 hours.

Overall, Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder is a budget pressed powder for normal to oily skin. It is better to skip it if you have very oily skin as it fails to give a matte finish for too long. For the price is a decent product to try if you find a suitable shade.
