As the name suggests, these are lip crayons. NY Bae Mets Matte Lip Crayon Lipstick range contains almost 40 shades. Yes, you read that right, 40 shades! Some of the shade names are Red Queen’s Choice 1, Nude Major League Attraction 2, Nude City Field Got Owned 3, Pink Bad Guy’s Choice 4, Plum Partying with Mascot 5, etc. The names seem to be given in a very thoughtful way. The first word indicates the shade name followed by a catchy part and then the shade number. I really liked the way they have named the lipsticks. NY Bae Mets Matte Lip Crayon Lipstick claims to be long lasting and highly pigmented, with creamy consistency that sets in to comfortable matte finish. NY Bae Mets Matte Lip Crayon Lipstick come in pencil form. The tip is well protected by a transparent cap. These pencils are not retractable, hence we need to sharpen the tip for proper application. I am not a fan of these types of sharpenable pencils, since they lead to lots of product wastage.

However, the cap sits tightly and doesn’t come off on its own, which means you can carry them in the bag safely during travelling.

I purchased a lovely pink shade of NY Bae Mets Matte Lip Crayon. It is a gorgeous shade and would look beautiful on medium to wheatish skin tone. The shade is great for day time wear, specially during summer.

My Experience with NY Bae Mets Matte Lip Crayon

NY Bae Mets Matte Lip Crayon has a smooth and creamy texture. It glides very smoothly on the lips, and gives a good color pay off in a single stroke. Two swipes maximum are required for full opaque lips. These lip crayons are a great choice to hide pigmented lips.

It feels creamy as well as lightweight on the lips. After the initial 4-5 minutes, it sets in to comfortable matte finish. However, it is not 100% matte, but a velvety matte sort of finish, and that’s why, the formula is not 100% transfer proof. It transfers a little though, not crazily.

NY Bae Matte Lip Crayon is also not 100% water proof or smudge proof. If you put water on the lips and then rub the lips, the color will come off. Talking about the staying power, the lip crayon stays on me for about 3 hours, if I don’t eat or drink anything in between.

And touch up is required after having snacks or coffee. If you take a full meal, the lipstick will almost wear off, hence I would suggest you to remove the lipstick completely and then wear it afresh.

Overall, NY Bae Mets Matte Lip Crayon Lipstick is a great choice if you are under strict budget. The smooth, creamy lip crayons glide nicely and sets in to lightweight, comfortable matte finish. Pigmentation is great, however staying power can be a bit better.
