Back with Nivea Fruity Shine Cherry Lip Balm Review this time 🙂 It’s the era of selfies! Love them. Hate them. Mock them or call it names but there is surely no denying that the selfie fad is here to stay. Looking good in pictures has been an unsaid art. While some of us manage to look a million bucks effortlessly in pictures, some of us look like we are being photographed the way criminals are! Ok, that was harsh but I am one of those!! I do look very awkward and clumsy in my pictures, so naturally it goes without saying that I despise this ‘selfie fad’ for any smartphone-wielding person can capture me at my worst!
Anyway, another word that comes concomitant with selfies is… POUTING! And in order to flaunt your lips, you need to have luscious ones too. Lip balms, then become our ultimate weapons to achieve those enviable pouts. Don’t they? So, let’s build this chain now. Selfie fad-> Pout-> Lips-> Lip balm-> Necessarily invest in a good one. Today, I will be sharing Nivea Fruity Shine Cherry Lip Balm Review. This one lip balm has everyone around me signing panes in its honor. Let’s see how it fared for me and whether it deserves a ‘yay’ or a ‘nay’ 🙂
Price of Nivea Fruity Shine Cherry Lip Balm : Rs.135/- for 4.8 gm
Direction for use : Apply directly on lips as often as desired.
Ingredients : Not mentioned
Shelf life : 30 months from the date of manufacturing.
Color : As bright a red shade as its outer covering is.
Smell : Cherry-like whiff but it isn’t as natural as most lips balms that come in strawberry flavour in the market are. Though not sorely disappointing, yet not up to the mark in my opinion. I’ve come across betters aromas in this category of lip balms.

My experience with Nivea Fruity Shine Cherry Lip Balm
Packed in a traditional lipstick-style packaging, Nivea Fruity Shine Cherry Lip Balm?isn’t like your typical lipstick whose cap loosens with regular usage. In fact, the cap is sturdy and even if you invert the lip balm (with its cap of course, properly inserted), it won’t fall off. The balm doesn’t get stuck in the body of the tube which is really a major relief given how some balms despite working wonders on your lips end up giving you a tough time as they get stuck in their position overtime.
On account of packging, it is travel-friendly, sturdy and spillage-free. So, it’s up to the mark for me.
The texture of Nivea Fruity Shine Cherry Lip Balm is slightly thick. It feels ‘a little’ heavy on my lips maybe because till date, I have used only lip butters (which are way too soft and smooth in texture) or lip balms having so smooth a texture that if applied with a little pressure (or not gently) might break the balm. So, this point is both a pro and a con for me. It is a con since I am not used to its ‘slightly’ thick texture (It isn’t very thick though. Just slightly.). It is pro too since it won’t break if not applied gently 🙂
The aroma is a bit strong but has the whiff of cherries which stayed well for about 15 minutes but then vanished. The tint is a bright shade of red. It will work perfectly for those with naturally pink lips and will help in covering mild pigmentation too but I won’t recommend it to those with highly pigmented lips. Also, it has some sparkles in it so for those who want to sport an ultra-glam look, this works wonders by not only imparting a bright red tint but also adding those sparkles. Mind you, your lips won’t feel like a Kinder Gartener’s art project who has drenched his entire tube of sparkles but there’ll be a decent amount of sparkle 🙂
The staying power is average. It stayed well on my lips for about 1-1.5 hours but the moisruization ability isn’t good. Unlike most other lip balms take for instance- Maybelline’s baby lips whose effect when vanishes, add a bit of softness to your lips, this doesn’t do this. It doesn’t mean that it dries out your lips but it simply doesn’t leave you with soft lips post usage.
Overall, Nivea Fruity Shine Cherry Lip Balm?would work wonders when you wish to doll up but for regular usage, moisturization is more important than sporting diva-like lips. In that deprtment, it sadly underwhelms you. I don’t mean that this lip balm is utter trash. It just would not be suitable for daily uses especially during winters when soft and well-hydrated lips are one’s priority.

I’ve always liked the tint of this lip balm. But the moisturization as you mentioned is a bit low.
Yes, the tint is really noticeable Sangeeta 🙂 Great for adding the glam touch but it doesn’t feel like a hydrating lip balm. It feels more like a lipstick.
Nicely detailed review 🙂
