Directions to use : Apply lipcolor with applicator wand starting in the center of your upper lip. Work from the center to the outer edges of your lip, following the contours of your mouth. Then glide across the entire bottom lip.

My experience with Maybelline Color Elixir by Color Sensational Lip Color Captivating Carnation

Though I was open for wearing glosses, but still I wanted some color as well. I, personally, do not prefer colorless glosses. Maybelline Color Elixir by Color Sensational in Captivating Carnation is a pretty shade of medium pink, which borders towards the warm undertone. Because of this, it will look pretty on all complexions. It is ‘My Lips But Better’ color for me. The gloss gives a very nice sheen to the lips. Nothing very over the top bling. But a very pretty healthy shine. I love that there is no shimmer in this gloss. I pair it with little heavy eyes as in a smokey eye or at least some dark color on the eyes. I do not like wearing such shades with plain eyes.

Maybelline Color Elixir by Color Sensational in Captivating Carnation is slightly sheer and you need to swipe couple of times to get the desired color. You have to be careful with the amount of gloss you apply at a time. As more amount makes the application a little patchy and uneven. The best practice is start with small amounts and layer it slowly to build up the color. The lip gloss has a very buttery and smooth texture. It keeps the lips hydrated for a long time. If you apply it slowly, it won’t clump up. The lip gloss is little sticky, but not very much.

Maybelline Color Elixir by Color Sensational in Captivating Carnation stays for an average 4-5 hours which is pretty good for a gloss. It will vanish away if you eat/drink. But still it keeps the lips moisturized even after the color is gone. The lip gloss has a typical rectangular glass packaging. The glass tube has a silver cap with the applicator. The applicator is very unique and is little bended. The lip gloss is packaged to look like a lipstick in the tube. Smart idea. 😉
