To be frank we all love it when our skin glows and I wanted to try skincare products from our very own Indian brand Lakme and hence I got it to see if it lives up to the claims.

My experience with Lakme Absolute Skin Gloss Gel Creme

The Lakme Absolute Skin Gloss Gel Creme comes in a black tub with a reflective blue cap which comes in a black cardboard box, the packaging is really sleek and stylish. The tub is very sturdy and the packaging is overall travel friendly. The gel creme is light blue colored but when swatches and applied it comes off clear. The Lakme Absolute Skin Gloss Gel Creme  has a very lightweight texture and is perfectly named since it is somewhere between a gel and a cream hence has properties of both which is unique. The major gripe I have about it is the strong masculine cologne like fragrance, I mean who would add such strong fragrance in skincare products for women, but thankfully it fades within few minutes of applying it.

I love how cooling and soothing it feels, it really calms down my skin.It feels very light while I apply it and sinks in very quickly. Little goes a very long way with it and hence one tub will last for quite long time, since if I apply it in more quantity then required then it makes my skin oily later on. I have combination skin with oily t-zone and it suits my skin perfectly although I don’t think it will be moisturizing enough for the coming winters and extremely dry skin, as my skin gets dry during that time. I like how smooth my skin feels after applying Lakme Absolute Skin Gloss Gel Creme which makes it very suitable to use as a makeup base . It has no SPF in it and hence can be used as a night cream as well but sunscreen has to be used separately during day time.

The ingredients list is not very impressive since the gel creme contains whole lot of chemicals but also claims to contain many useful minerals. After using it regularly my skin feels very soft and hydrated, and I love the instant smoothness and glow it gives after application, it makes my skin look more healthy, but from the name and description I had expected it to make my skin more glossy and dewy over time, but I am only able to see that while I apply it and hence there are no long term benefits with prolong use, but the good thing it that it has not caused any breakouts on my skin 🙂

Overall, Lakme Absolute Skin Gloss Gel creme is lightweight mineral enriched soothing moisturizer which leaves my skin feeling smooth, soft and adds a slight glow, without making my skin oily. I will recommend it to people with normal to oily skin looking for a gel based moisturizer.
