Before we talk about the best multani mitti ubtans let us talk a little about the ubtans and the benefits of multani mitti to be used in ubtan recipes.

What is Ubtan?

Ubtan is an Ayurvedic herbal paste which helps to detoxify body and skin. The use of ubtan was not only meant to improve skin texture, but also to purify mind and body.

According to Ayurveda, ubtans should be used according to the ‘doshas’ or imbalances that you have in your body. Ayurveda categorizes doshas in to Vata, Pitta and Kapha.

Ingredients –

  • Multani Mitti
  • Sandalwood powder
  • Turmeric powder
  • Rose water
  • Raw milk

How to prepare?

In a mixing bowl, take a tbsp multani mitti. To that, add a generous pinch of turmeric powder and a tsp sandalwood powder. Mix the dry ingredients together.

To that, add some rose water as well as raw milk. Combine everything and prepare the multani mitti ubtan.

Apply it all over the face as well as neck and massage gently with your finger tips.

Wait for 15-20 minutes before washing off with plain water. Repeat twice or thrice every week.

2. Multani Mitti Ubtan for Moisturization

Ingredients –

  • Multani Mitti
  • Gram Flour
  • Almond Powder
  • Yogurt
  • Raw honey

How to prepare?

Take 1-2 tbsp multani mitti in a mixing bowl. Add a tbsp each of gram flour and almond powder to that and mix the dry ingredients.

To the dry ingredients, add some fresh yogurt as well as a tbsp raw honey and mix everything nicely to prepare the multani mitti ubtan.

Apply it all over the face as well as the drier parts of your body and gently massage in circular motions for few minutes.

Leave it on the skin for another 20-30 minutes before washing off with plain water. Reapply this simple multani mitti ubtan twice weekly.

3. Anti Acne Multani Mitti Ubtan

Ingredients –

  • Multani Mitti
  • Neem powder
  • Oatmeal powder
  • Lemon juice
  • Rose water

How to prepare?

To prepare this multani mitti ubtan, first, grind 1-2 tbsp uncooked oatmeal and prepare oatmeal powder. Take it in a bowl and add a tbsp multani mitti as well as a tsp neem powder to that.

Mix them together. To prepare a paste, add juice of one lemon and some rose water to the dry ingredients and combine everything.

Now that the multani mitti ubtan is ready to use, apply it on the face and gently massage for few minutes. Let it stay on the skin for 15-20 minutes and then, wash off with plain water.

Repeat the entire process twice or thrice weekly. You can also use this multani mitti ubtan for body acne.

4. Exfoliating Multani Mitti Ubtan

Ingredients –

  • Multani mitti
  • Rice Flour
  • Gram Flour
  • Papaya paste
  • Raw milk

How to prepare?

Cut few cubes from a fresh papaya. Put them in a blender and blend until you get a smooth papaya pulp. Take it out and keep it aside.

In a separate bowl, take 1-2 tbsp multani mitti and mix it with 1 tsp each of gram flour and rice flour. Pour this dry mixture to the papaya pulp and add some raw milk as well.

Finally mix everything to prepare the exfoliating multani mitti ubtan.

Apply it all over the face and/or body and massage in circular motion to exfoliate. After massaging for 5-10 minutes, wait for another 15 minutes before washing it off. Reapply this multani mitti ubtan once or twice weekly.

Raw Milk –
