Before we go on talking about the Ayurvedic hair pack recipes, it is important to understand Ayurveda’s approach to hair care. Take a look below.

Ayurveda’s Approach to Hair Care

According to Ayurveda, every single thin in this universe, including human body is made up of 5 elements – air, fire, water, earth and ether. And there are three doshas in every living object, they are vata, pitta and kapha.

Ayurveda experts believe that balancing vata, pitta and kapha doshas is the key to lead a healthy life. And every single problem that we face regarding our health and beauty is because of the imbalance of vata, pitta and kapha.

Ayurveda believes that when your hair is healthy, it reflects your unique ratio of vata, pitta and kapha.

But if you are experiencing any hair problem like dry hair, frizzy hair, hair fall, dandruff etc, it indicates the imbalance of the three doshas which impact both the strength and appearance of our hair.

  • Excess vata can result in dry, frizzy hair which is also very brittle. It also causes split ends, thinning of hair, severe hair fall and also lack of hair growth.
  • Aggravation of pitta dosha can cause excess heat in the hair follicles. This can further lead to hair thinning, baldness and premature graying of hair. Furthermore, the heat in the hair follicles can make someone hot headed, short tempered and extremely ambitious.
  • Aggravation of kapha dosha is indicated by oily, heavy hair.

Now that we have got a fair idea of how vata, pitta and kapha affects our hair health, it’d be great to find out few simple and effective ayurveda hair pack recipes to try at home.
