Why it works?

Oily skin is the favorite breeding ground for acne causing bacteria. Hence, to control breakouts, first we need to reduce skin oiliness. The excess oil on our skin is actually the result of dehydrated skin. Lack of hydration forces the sebaceous glands to produce more oil and this excess oil ends up being accumulated on the skin surface, giving our face an oily, greasy look.

Being a rich source of water, aloe vera helps in rejuvenating and hydrating the skin without making it oily. Being non comedogenic, aloe vera is safe to use on all skin types, including sensitive skin. It is mild in nature and a 100% natural ingredient, hence there is less chance of any side effects on the skin.

The anti inflammatory benefits of aloe vera provide a soothing relief to irritated, acne prone, oily skin. Also, aloe vera gel has astringent benefits. It helps in absorbing excess oil from the skin surface, without imparting any dryness. The water content of aloe vera doesn’t let the skin feel dehydrated. Regular use of aloe vera keeps the skin hydrated without making it greasy.

Being a natural astringent, aloe vera helps to dry out the existing acne and pimples. Furthermore, as we already said, it can reduce the oiliness of the skin. This way, it prevents the oil and dirt to block the pores and form acne afterwards.

Regular application of aloe vera can refine the pores’ size and draw out the impurities present in the pores, which also help towards acne reduction. Along with these, aloe vera is enriched with anti oxidant, anti bacterial as well as anti inflammatory benefits that work together to combat acne and soothe acne-irritated skin.

Aloe vera has the ability to boost collagen production in the skin. Collagen not only helps to keep the skin soft, supple, healthy as well as youthful, but it also helps to fill in the holes from acne scars, thus leaving us with a smooth and spotless skin.

2. Cucumber for Skin Care – Glowing Skin

Why it works?

Lemon has excellent natural cleansing benefits. It works as a great deep cleansing agent for our skin, thanks to the presence of citric acid. Sometimes dirt and dead cells build up a layer on our skin surface, making the face look dull and patchy. Citric acid exfoliates the skin deeply and eliminates the dirt and impurities to give us brighter and glowing skin.

Acne and pimples also ruin the natural beauty of our skin, leaving us with red, patchy skin. Lemon juice is very effective to fight off acne breakouts. It works in multiple ways to give us acne free, glowing skin. Firstly, the citric acid content exfoliates the skin and unclog the blocked pores, thus reducing the chances of getting acne.

Acne scars, at times, look worse than acne, because they just don’t seem to go away! Lemon juice, however, is a great way to fade acne scars. Lemon juice is a rich source of vitamin C. Vitamin C is an anti oxidant that helps to boost new cell growth which further helps lightening the scars and marks. Being an astringent, lemon juice helps to shrink the pores, which also reduces the appearance of marks and scars.

Sometimes dryness of the skin makes our face looks very dull and patchy. Lemon juice has exfoliating benefits that help removing the dry skin cells and makes way for healthy and glowing skin. Also, the high amount of vitamin C in lemon has hydrating benefits for our skin.
