Color Bar Eye Shadow Black Tie Review – Smokey eyes are the latest trend among all girls, isn’t it? Even I am tempted towards this trend and thus I bought Colorbar Eye shadow Black Tie few days back to try hot and sizzling smokey eyes (I am still trying). According to me, black Eye shadow should be in everyone’s vanity it’s so versatile. You can use black Eye shadow alone or mix it with other Eye shadow like blue and red and you’re ready to rock. Lets begin the review. 🙂

Colorbar Eyeshadow Black Tie Packaging

I feel it’s a good Eyeshadow especially for the newbie’s in makeup. The packaging of Eyeshadow is tradition colorbar packaging. It’s packaged in a small plastic case which has two compartments, one contains the Eyeshadow and the other contains the brush, it also has a small mirror in it which can be handy when you’re travelling. The brush is very small and it doesn’t help in application, you need to use your own brush. Also, it is not very sturdy and mine is already broken. Moreover, the plastic case is not sturdy and also when it fell down, it broke. (I know that’s my mistake but they should have used strong plastic :P).

Feel of Color Bar Eye Shadow Black Tie

Furthermore, the name says black tie but I think it’s more like a grey Eyeshadow…what you think? It also has shimmer in it and shimmer for me is a big no-no but it’s hardly noticeable on eyes and it’s not very chunky so I am okay with it. The texture of Colorbar Eyeshadow is smooth and it also glides on eyes quite easily without any base or primer. Blending it is also very easy and it does not crease at all, which is a plus point again. I have also noticed that anything having shimmer spreads all over the face but this does not (really!). The shimmer is hardly visible and it also does not fall all over my face.

The pigmentation is very good and one swipe is enough to get the desired result but you can build the color if you want. I usually use two swipes. The staying power is also very good, it stayed for around 6 hours on me without any primer and then it started fading away.  Primer would increase its staying power 2-3 hours more. I am very satisfied with the Eyeshadow and I am thinking to but more from this range.
