Celebration of 125 Years of Johnson & Johnson Company – I was called at the celebration of 125 years of Johnson & Johnson Company. I was very excited for the event as it was a proud occasion for the company and I was happy to be a part of this event. I reached the venue and was welcomed in a warm way with attractive decorations. There, I was given a bag with personalized card with “Indian Mom On Duty” printed on it. Inside the bag was a white laboratory coat, white glasses and a purse. I was very curious to know why is this given to us? There were many guests who attended the event. They were mothers who are bloggers or represent a certain group and many of them were my friends too.

There was a photo station, where all the mothers were clicking pictures with various props, shooting boomerangs and much more. We all were gathered in a room and the agenda of the entire event was explained to us. There were volunteers for us as well, who were kind and polite enough to answer our doubts. There were 2 teams – pink and blue, and all the activities were split among these two teams.

Then we went for the Johnson & Johnson factory visit with the team and the in-charge, wearing the white coat and glasses. First we visited the Quality and Compliance Cycle of Johnson & Johnson, where facts about the quality of the products were disclosed to us, including certain audit checks done on the company, what measures the company takes to maintain the quality of the products etc. Some of the mothers also asked couple of questions which were answered properly. During the factory visit, we got to learn many things, like how the manufacturing of Johnson & Johnson Baby Powder is done, what ingredients they use, how many processes are there in the entire manufacturing etc. The production manager explained us these things in detail.

Later Ram Sir gave us a brief description about the talcum powder, like how the processing takes place, which ingredients they use and which they do not use. He also mentioned which ingredients are good for baby’s skin and which are not. A small experiment was performed showing Johnson & Johnson baby power and another powder as to which one is smooth in consistency. In fact, there were more activities on the card as well.

I was quite active on my social media during the event sharing the whole experience with my followers. They enjoyed it too. As lunch time was close, we all gathered in the room again and enjoyed a yummy lunch. After lunch, Dr. Rahul along with his team had planned an interesting activity for us. A doll was given at our table and we were asked to follow what Dr. Rahul is doing with the doll. He actually explained the process to handle the baby when he/she comes out of the mothers’s womb. Is the baby breathing or crying? Depending on the answer, the next processes took place with the newborn baby. Dr. Rahul elaborated the “Golden Minute” of the baby’s life in a fun way. We followed his instructions and learnt many things.

Prof Joshi was also present there and explained various topics like education to mothers during child birth in the rural areas, how their training process takes place.  He also explained many facts on neoithic resuscitation- how is it done and its importance. Furthermore, there was a panel question answer round, where mothers asked questions on various topics. Which oil to be used for baby? Ingredients of certain products etc were asked. Moreover, this session was for about an hour and I learnt so many important things.

It was then tea time, I refreshed myself with some tea and sandwiches. Deepali and Ram Sir later had a very exciting question answer round, in which, whoever mother asks the toughest question gets a Johnson & Johnson hamper. There were many questions. Why was there a case on the company? How did it effect the reputation of the brand? When to switch from baby products to normal adult products? Is the company planning for some products for mothers? Why are some products available in foreign countries inspite of their production in India?

At the end, there was a small photo-shoot session of all the mothers who attended the event and also a wonderful hamper was given to us which included Johnson & Johnson shampoo, baby wipes , bottle of baby bath and many more things.

Overall it was a great experience as I gained knowledge of so many things and hope to attend more events of Johnson & Johnson Company. Learning about their manufacturing process as well as quality checks made me assured that as a mother I am giving the best to my baby with Johnson & Johnson.
