Immediately after application it can be smudged to create a soft look or left for a minute to set into a concrete line. In both ways this kajal performs impressively. One can apply and go out for a long and tiring day, it does not need reapplication. Even after using several times in a row I did not see any wastage which happens when the tip breaks on applying pressure during application.

The claims of Bella Voste Intense Eyeliner Kajal in Black Onyx being smudge proof is definitely correct. I did not face any smudging from my upper lids. On my lower ones unless I rub my lids very hard or my eyes are watering constantly only then it smudges a bit. Thus it is more or less water resistant as well. At the end of the day, this kajal does not vanish in blocks, rather it becomes lighter. Also any good makeup remover can help one get rid of the last traces.
