Winter Hair Care

Be it summers or winters, can we ignore our hair? Absolutely not! There is a drastic change in our food habits and lifestyle, resulting to hair and skin problems. Dandruff, hair fall, itchy scalp, hair thinning, dull and dry hair are the most common problems faced by all of us. We would have tried expensive products to cure these problems, but all in vain. One must remember that hair care also depends on seasons and product should be chosen accordingly. The summers and winters differ in their weather conditions, resulting to different hair care regimes. The following are some of the winter hair care tips

Winter Hair Care

Dealing with frizzy hair

The air contains less moisture during winters. We tend to cover ourselves with woolen clothes such as scarves, sweaters, caps, gloves, socks and so on. This will create static around us leading to dry and frizzy hair. Use a comb which has vented air brush. Ensure that the brush has both plastic and boar bristles. Avoid using hot water to wash your tresses as it will damage your hair. You can use lukewarm water instead.

Oiling your hair

Do not leave your hair oil deprived as it is the best remedy to maintain the healthy hair. Take few drops of oil and warm it up. You can choose almond or olive oil. Apply it on your scalp and massage it in circular motions. Allow the hair roots to best absorb the oil. Wash it off after few hours with a mild shampoo. Apply conditioner. This will leave your hair shiny and breakage free.

Drying the hair in right way

Do not comb your hair when it is wet, neither tie it up. This might damage the hair. Use a hair dryer or a towel to dry your hair. You can also allow it to dry naturally if you have ample time. Wet hair in winter might lead to scalp infections.

Apply Conditioner

Shampooing your hair just not enough to manage the hair. Our tresses definitely need that extra care to deal with our lifestyle. You can add hair conditioning oils to your conditioner for that extra moisture that you desired for. Blend it properly and apply it after shampooing. Leave it for twenty minutes and rinse it thoroughly. Choose non-greasy oil.

The most common hair care problem is the dry and itchy scalp, which leads to dandruff formation. These white flakes are really dangerous for hair growth.

Homemade conditioner

Ingredients

Oil – sesame or olive

Lemon juice

Lukewarm water

Take 2 teaspoons of oil in bowl. Ensure that oil is warmed up. Squeeze some res lemon juice to it. Stir it and apply it on your scalp. Massage it thoroughly to enjoy the complete benefits of this mixture. Allow it to settle for 2 hours. Rinse it off with lukewarm water and shampoo. Condition it. Regular application will kill the dandruff slowly. You can also apply the oil first on scalp and use lemon juice separately over it. The choice is yours.

Healthy and Shiny Hair:

This is the desire of every woman. We would do anything to get a healthy and shiny hair. Well, take some honey in a bowl depending on your hair length. Apply the honey to the hair roots and cover it with a shower cap or a plastic cover. Let not the moisture vanish. The dry and frizzy hair also leaves the hair dull and weak thus we need to take extra protection. Allow the honey to settle for 30 minutes. Wash it off with lukewarm water. Yours silky and shiny hair is back. Continue this procedure once in a week for best results.
