VLCC Daily Protect Cherry Lip Balm Review

Hello readers! I am back with another lip balm review – VLCC Daily Protect Cherry Lip Balm Review. If there are any two flavours of any lip balm which are used frequently by any average woman, they have to be strawberry and cherry. Being an avid lip balm user, I have an uncontrollable urge (or to put it in a Desi way, Keeda) in me to try out lip balms in cherry and strawberry flavors irrespective of the brand or price range 🙂 Okay, I do care about the price range but at times, one should splurge wholeheartedly. Shouldn’t we? 🙂

VLCC Daily Protect Cherry Lip Balm Review

Today, I’ll share my experience with VLCC Daily Protect Cherry Lip Balm and let you know how it fared for me. Read on to find whether it deserves a ‘Yay’ or a ‘Nay’ 🙂 As the name suggests it is a cherry flavored lip balm, which comes with SPF 15 to protect the lips from harsh sun. This is a lightweight and non greasy formula claims to?soothe and conditions lips, keeping them soft and supple. Let’s move on to my?VLCC Daily Protect Cherry Lip Balm Review to know if it does what it claims.

VLCC Daily Protect Cherry Lip Balm pack

Price of VLCC Daily Protect Cherry Lip Balm : Rs.60/- for 4 gm

Color :Red. It isn’t blood red or vampire red. But a pleasing shade of red which imparts its tinge to lips when applied. It is brighter than the strawberry variant of the same range.

My experience with VLCC Daily Protect Cherry Lip Balm

VLCC Daily Protect Cherry Lip Balm comes packed in a plastic roll-on package with a cap on top. Tube packaging makes it hygienic to use as well as travel-friendly, however, its packaging is far from sturdy. In fact, with prolonged usage, the balm gets stuck at time in the tube and sometimes doesn’t go back in the tube despite unstinted efforts (and during moments of pessimism- prayers) 🙂

So, for me the packaging is flimsy and there’s a lot of scope for improvement in this. VLCC, please take note. To those who wish for that glossy effect, it leaves a very subtle sheen. The gloss is not too gaudy or overly noticeable. The fragrance like I said before is sweet but temporary. It will vanish within a few minutes.

VLCC Daily Protect Cherry Lip Balm has a prepossessing red tinge which is imparts effectively to your lips once glided. In fact, 2-3 swipes are good enough to get a noticeable tinge. The moisturization power is good given its price. It stays well for around 1.5-2 hours. This might not sound good to those with overly dry/chapped/parched lips but for those with normal lips, it is good to go. Also, in this price range, expecting long-lasting moisturization would be too far-fetched an idea. The tinge is a healthy red tone and not one which looks deliberate. In fact, if you have pink lips, it will enhance the natural color of your luscious lips 🙂 And those with slightly pigmented lips, don’e be disheartened. It covers one’s pigmented lips (if the lips are pigmented slightly) very well and doesn’t leave any ugly white cast once its effect vanishes. At least it didn’t in my case.

With regular usage VLCC Daily Protect Cherry Lip Balm?can cure dry lips, but I don’t think that will be the case with very dry lips. It’s not the case that if you have extremely dry lips, this will turn out to be a total dud for you but it won’t be the “IT” solution. This works well for dry and normal lips.

Overall, VLCC Daily Protect Cherry Lip Balm worked well for me both in summers as well as in winters. While it is not the best in its category, yet it surely is promising.

  1. Thanks for the review… Seems to be a nice tinted lip balm for normal lips. Having SPF is added advantage…

  2. Good review Sweetie

  3. @Kiran- Thank you for your kind words 🙂

@Archana- Yes, Archana. It’s really value for money. I don’t know why it has not been praised enough (I have read a few negative reviews of it) but I we take the price in consideration, it is any day a winner. Sadly, it doesn’t contain SPF. But I think we should always evaluate a lip balm or any product for that matter on the basis of the price we’re paying. For instance- If I pay Rs 150/- for Maybelline baby lips, I will naturally look for more features such as- better packaging, SPF, etc. 🙂
So, evaluation has to be in relation to what you are paying. After all, we shouldn’t simply compare a Burt’s bees balm with an Eva balm 🙂 thank you for reading!
