Patanjali Kesh Kanti Hair Oil Review

They raise your glam quotient by leaps and bounds. They are also capable of marring your entire appearance if not maintained properly. You long for them. You covet them. You maintain them and fondly term them the “crowning glory”. Ok, time to let the cat out of the bag. I am talking about none other ‘Hair’ 🙂 There would be a number of shampoos, conditioners, serums, hair growth capsules claiming to fasten your hair growth and leave you with locks that’d leave Rapunzel red-faced, and what not for hair care but amongst all these, our Good Ol’ hair oiling sessions can never be ignored. Almost all of us would have memories of our hair being drenched in oil like Jalebis being cooked in oil back in childhood. Ok, that Jalebi example was enough to leave one desiring for a plate of the same, but come back to the topic. Today I will be sharing Patanjali Kesh Kanti Hair Oil Review.

Patanajali besides being a renowned Ayurvedic brand is also quite pocket-friendly. Having heard rave reviews of their products, I stepped into my neighboring Patanjali outlet and grabbed this Patanjali Kesh Kanti Hair Oil since I have been consistent in hair oiling and during winters a hot oiling session at home is next to an opportunity to unwind with your hair being pampered 🙂 Read below my Patanjali Kesh Kanti Hair Oil Review and find out how it worked for me.

Ingredients : BBHT, Sugandhit dravya q.s (Base material)

Smell : A little too strong. People around you will get to know that you have oiled your hair even if you happen to apply a little amount of it. Some may find it too overpowering and disgusting however since everyone’s taste varies so some may find it bearable too.

My experience with Patanjali Kesh Kanti Hair Oil

Packed in a plastic bottle with a flip-top cap, Patanjali Kesh Kanti Hair Oil is hygienic to carry as its cap doesn’t loosen overtime as well as sturdy. I find it travel-friendly hence, would consider it up to the mark in terms of packaging. Of course, you can see in the pictures that it is not fancy or eye-pleasing in terms of outward design but like always, I couldn’t care less about its outward appearance. It simply doesn’t matter to me what a product is externally. If it works well, it is useful and worthy of being re-purchased. Period.

Patanjali Kesh Kanti Hair Oil has a slightly thick texture and if applied in excess will give a very unhealthy chipku look so be careful with the quantity. The smell is irritating after a point especially if you keep it overtime but if used regularly, who knows may be you’ll get used to it? Anyway, as instructed I kept it overnight (and used it devotedly for two months) and there was not any noticeable change. Two months is a good enough time period in my opinion to gauge the effectiveness of a hair oil.

I don’t have split ends so can’t comment on how effective it is (as claimed) in getting rid of them. I feel it is a far-fetched and unrealistic claim. How can any product make those ends go back to the original hair strand? It’s just naive to believe it. You have to trim your hair to get rid of them.

Now during winters, my hair which is already dry, seizes the opportunity to look all the more like a porcupine so. It didn’t do anything in taming them also. This was a major put-off for me as I had devoted two whole months to elicit results. I don’t have severe or noticeable hair fall issues so I can’t comment on how it works, if it does, on that issue.

The only good part is that Patanjali Kesh Kanti Hair Oil?helped me in sleeping peacefully but that’s the case with every ABC oil in the market. Your scalp dries and makes it uncomfortable for you to sleep peacefully. Once massaged with hair oil (which hydrates it), it won’t cause any discomfort so it is not any special quality of this oil. Every other hair oil does that.

Overall, Patanjali Kesh Kanti Hair Oil didn’t show any great result in my case to be re-purchased.

Good about Patanjali Kesh Kanti Hair Oil

  • Sturdy packaging
  • Travel-friendly
  • Comes from a renowned brand

Bad about Patanjali Kesh Kanti Hair Oil

  • Doesn’t help with dry hair that is, it doesn’t soften or moisturize dry hair
  • Nauseating smell
  • A little too thick so those with oily hair may find it a hassle to use it
  • Sometimes, takes more than 1 wash to get rid off it completely (this is subejctive since those with oily hair may need to wash it more often to get rid of all the oil)
  • A little expensive for the quantity
  • Available either online (where the price is usually inflated) or at Patanjali outlets (which as of now, are not that easy to find or widespread)

Availability :easily available at Patanjali outlets

Fashion and Beauty Rating : 0.5/5

  1. I don’t like such oils which are that difficult to wash off…

  2. @Pallavi- I feel our humble old coconut oil is the best. One can add/subtract herbs too. For instance- if someone has dandruff, steep neem leaves and so on.
And the worst part about this oil is that it has such a strong smell! You can soak a hanky in it and kidnap someone by putting it on their nose 😛

  3. I hate these types of strong smell oils 🙂 Honest review 🙂

  4. I have been using this kesh kanti oil. Like it, just that its so thick that is a big turn off for me
