Hey lovely ladies 🙂 It is true that beauty begins inside out and apart from genetics, the way your skin appears has got a lot to do with what all you eat and drink. To some extent, our lifestyle like levels of physical activity, our sleep patterns etc also influence our skin. Another very important thing that actually makes a difference in the tone, texture and elasticity of your skin is your skincare regimen and the products you use.
Today I will be sharing How to Make Night Cream at Home. A night cream is basically used before retiring to bed after using a good cleanser and makeup remover. There are many night creams available out there in the markets. You can take your pick from Indigenous brands to high end and of course, insanely expensive international brands. I am quite sure you have already experimented with a couple of brands. So friends, why not try out a little experiment at our home using the ingredients from our pantry!!! So take a quick look at How to Make Night Cream at Home.
How to Make Night Cream at Home
- 1 Apple
- 5 tablespoons of Rose water
- 2 tablespoons of Olive oil
- 5 drops of your favorite essential oil (optional)
- Container to store your cream
Why did we choose these ingredients
This happens to be one fruit that is really mild on skin and has a great texture to work with on skin. It is rich in many alpha hydroxy acids, the most potent of which is Malic acid. It is rich in many skin nourishing vitamins such as vitamin A,B and C.
It is a great moisturizer for skin and is rich in antioxidants too that help in fighting the free radicals that cause damage to collagen fibres and skin cells at microscopic level. It is rich in Vitamin A and E.
It imparts your skin cream a lovely fragrance and replenishes the lost moisture. It helps to maintain your skin’s PH balance.
You can use tea tree oil for it’s amazing anti acne properties but it is not mandatory.
How to prepare?
Simply blend all the ingredients together to form a smooth paste. Store in a refrigerator.
How to use
Use this night cream by gently massaging it into your face and neck using circular motions after removing your makeup and washing your face with a mild face wash. Leave the cream overnight and wash your face using lukewarm water.
Other things to keep in mind
- The cream might change color due to presence of Iron in Apples.
- Make small batches of cream and store in a small container. This cream can be used for a week, once prepared.
My experience with this natural night cream
After regular usage, your skin becomes visibly brighter, the blemishes begin to lighten. My skin feels quite plump. I have no wrinkles yet by god’s grace so, would not comment on that. The texture is such that it is not at all greasy and gets fully absorbed in skin.
