On this day, you can eat cottage cheese, sprouts as well as other vegetables, but you have to avoid tomatoes. You will also have soup on this day. The vegetables you will be taking have to be boiled and not fried. Salads must not have heavy dressings.

Meal day doesn’t mean you can have the whole meal. You will have to limit yourself to portion of them. Eat your favorite vegetables and also drink lots of water. You can also have sugarless fruit juice after every meal or snack.

Breakfast – 8:30 AM – Mixed vegetables salad and a glass of apple or orange juice.

Mid morning snack – 10:30 AM – A cup of carrot sticks, frozen and fresh berries or a bowl of vegetable soup and a glass of water.

Lunch -12 Noon – A bowl of cooked brown rice, a bowl of lightly sauted vegetables and 2 glasses of water.

Afternoon snack – 4 PM – 1 pear or 1 apple and a glass of water.

Evening snack – 6:30 PM – Mixed vegetables salad and 2 glasses of water.

Dinner – 8 PM – A bowl of mixed vegetable soup and 2 glasses of water.

Original GM Diet Plan

Day 1 – All fruits except bananas. No limit on quantity. It is strongly suggested that you consume lots of melons the first day as this will give you chance of losing 3 lbs. on first day itself.

Day 2 – All vegetables. You are encouraged to eat either cooked or raw vegetables. Start your day with a large baked potato as this will provide the body with the complex carbohydrates and fibers that will keep you going for the rest of the day.

Day 3 – Except for bananas and potatoes, eat a mixture of fruits and vegetables. No restriction on the amount.

Day 4 – This day is all about bananas and milk. Today you will eat as many as 8 bananas and drink 3 glasses of milk. Also, you will consume the special GM diet soup (check the recipe below).

Day 5 – This day you will eat beef and tomatoes. You will have 6 tomatoes and two 10 oz. portions of beef. You must eat all the tomatoes, however, it is not necessary to eat all the beef. Beef will provide iron and protein, while tomatoes will provide fiber to aid in digestion.

Day 6 – This day you will eat beef but avoid tomatoes. You can replace tomatoes with other vegetables of your choice. If you are vegetarian, you can replace beef 250 gm cheese + 150 ml curd + 20 gm soya chunks.

Day 7 – This is the last day of the GM Diet Plan. Today you will eat brown rice, fruit juices and the vegetables of your choice.

GM Diet Soup Recipe

This is a staple of this GM Diet Plan. Consume this in larger quantities and whenever you feel hungry. Here is the recipe –

Ingredients –

  • 6 large onions
  • 3 medium sized tomatoes
  • 1 cabbage
  • 2 green peppers
  • A bunch of celery
  • Half liter of water

Method –

  • Chop the onions and peppers. In a pot, add olive oil and saute the onions and peppers till they turn light brown.
  • Cut the tomatoes, celery and the cabbage and add them to the pot along with water.
  • The entire process will take about 60 minutes. The vegetables will boil and then left to simmer.
  • Don’t forget to add salt and pepper for seasoning.

Vegetables

Allowed – green leafy vegetables, tomatoes, potatoes, carrot, cucumber, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, beetroot, green bean.

Not Allowed – sweet potatoes.

Meat

The original GM Diet Plan also includes beef in it. But since many of us are not comfortable in consuming beef, so lean chicken can also be used. Always prefer fresh supply.

Beverages

Dairy products are avoided in GM Diet Plan till day 4, but after that one can consume yogurt, milk and cottage cheese. So, its better to stock up on milk and yogurt. Furthermore, If you want to drink fruit juice, then go for the freshly squeezed juices and not the packaged ones. You can also consume green tea but avoid any drink with too much caffeine in it.

Brown Rice
