What Covergirl Flamed Out Shadow Pencil claims
Two versatile products in one brilliant pencil! With Flamed Out Shadow Pencil, you get vivid, creamy color plus the definition of eyeliner for the bold eye looks you crave.
My experience with Covergirl Flamed Out Shadow Pencil
Covergirl Flamed Out Shadow Pencil is actually a slightly chubby wooden pencil. There is no twist up mechanism, simply old fashioned wooden pencil that needs to be sharpened from time to time. Honestly, I am not a big fan of such wooden pencils as there is quite a lot of product wastage everytime you sharpen them. The pencils have color coded packaging. The bottom and the lid almost match the shade of the shadow pencil.
The pencils are quite creamy and easy to glide. Covergirl Flamed Out Shadow Pencil applies very smoothly without any tugging or pulling and can be blended easily by gentle finger tapping. The shade I bought is a frosted brown shade which can be used as a thick liner or you can just smudge it up to wear as a shadow. There is an interesting thing that I noticed about this shadow pencil. There is a slight cooling sensation when the pencil touches the skin. It doesn’t last long, but feels cool and wet. I am quite surprised by this ‘cooling’ thing associated with something that has ‘Flamed Out’ in its name!
Let’s talk about the pigmentation now. Covergirl Flamed Out Shadow Pencil has good pigmentation. Once glided it gives a semi-sheer look, but it is buildable. Again I am pretty impressed with its staying power. Covergirl Flamed Out Shadow Pencil gives me 7-8 hours of wear without any primer. I normally use it as eyeshadow, but it can also be used as a base for powder shadows to give the later extra staying power and additional vibrancy. The formula can be easily removed with any facial cleanser.
Overall, I am quite impressed with Covergirl Flamed Out Shadow Pencil. It offers nice color pay off along with good staying power. This is a multi purpose product that can be used as liner, eye shadow and base for powder shadows. It is super easy to apply. My only concern is the cooling sensation. If you are sensitive to cooling eye products, give this a miss, or else try it out if you are a fan of shadow pencils.
