Chapstick Classic Cherry Lip Balm Review

Hello lovely ladies! Today I will be sharing Chapstick Classic Cherry Lip Balm Review. In keeping with my love for lip balms, one day I happened to stumble upon a lip balm which supposedly has taken the US lip balm industry by storm. It is none other than Chapstick. Chapstick proudly and flamboyantly claims to be USA’s number 1 lip balm on its package. Having read a few rave reviews of this balm online and its tag of being the number one lip balm of USA, I decided to judge for myself after trying it out so I ordered this balm online.

My experience with Chapstick Classic Cherry Lip Balm

Chapstick Classic Cherry Lip Balm comes in a plastic roll-on tube that is sturdy, hygienic and convenient to carry while commuting or travelling. All in all, I find it travel-friendly and it works well when it comes to packaging.

The fragrance of Chapstick Classic Cherry Lip Balm is very gentle and once can almost mistake it for bubble gum if smelt with one’s eyes shut. The aroma, however, is transient. It doesn’t persist for long and vanishes into thin air after a few minutes of application. The color like I said is light pink but no matter how much you swipe it, you won’t get to see any noticeable tint. Only after having swiped it quite a number of times, will you be able to see a faint pink tinge and definitely who’d swipe a lip balm 10-12 times on their lips to get a tinge? So, those with pigmented lips might find this of little value. I think that unless you have naturally pink lips you should not go for this as it won’t hide/conceal/cover your pigmentation even if you have slightly pigmented lips. Coming to its moisturization, this works exceptionally well. It keeps my lips well hydrated for 3 hours and I feel it can treat extremely chapped lips too.

Its chemical composition is troubling since Chapstick Classic Cherry Lip Balm contains a multitude of chemicals ranging from alcohol to those toxic parabens and even mineral oil. Coming to the lip balm’s softening properties, it really leaves you with soft and moisturized lips even after its effect vanishes. Regular usage, I think will promote softness and in my case it has softened my lips. It has zero gloss/sheen.

On the whole, barring its inability to produce a tinge/gloss and pigmentation-coverage, Chapstick Classic Cherry Lip Balm performs exceptionally well on all other parameters. It is good but nothing to go gaga over.

  1. i have heard praises about this one…especially on moisturization front…

    • Yes, it’s great in moisturisation but not effective in imparting a tint which can be problematic for those pigmented lips. However, if one has to treat overly dry lips, given its moisturisation power, it’s really good 🙂

  2. Hmm hmm, gonna consider this next time! Patta nahi kyu, but sadly u are getting hit by a looot of chemical-laden products these days! 🙁

    • Bingo! I’m done with these chemical-laden products. Agreed that a few are good and no doubt one cannot remove them completely from one’s closet. Eg- lip balms but if we can minimise their use on our skin and hair, we’ve won half the battle 🙂
Gladly, I’ve found the shampoo and ab bus ek baar summers aaye to thode DIYs se experiment kiya jaa sakega. Winters me to paani peete waqt gale me bhi thand lagne lagti hai 😛
