Hey all lovely people!!! I am back with a Brown smokey eye tutorial. Black smoky eyes are the easiest way to stand out in the crowd. However, black smoky eyes can be harsh for certain occasions and may not suit every one. I prefer a muted version – Brown Smoky Eyes. The eye look is very easy to achieve and does not require plethora of eye shadows. It will just take five minutes for you to complete this look and look sultry and smoky.
So, lets get started with the tutorial.

Brown Smoky Eyes Tutorial :
Prep before the eye makeup:
- Start with a clean face and eye for any makeup.
- Moisturize your eye lid and lower lashes as well with an eye cream. This will prevent any fine lines to appear.
Since the eyes are clean and moisturized, lets start the eye makeup:
Step 1: Start with filling and defining your eyebrows. Well-defined eyebrows are important to give balance to dark smoky eyes. Also, prime your lids and the lower lash line. I have used Urban Decay Primer Potion. If you do not have a primer, apply a concealer to give base to your shadows.
Step 2: Apply a brown cream base to the eyelids. I have used Maybelline Gel Eyeliner as mostly all of us will have it. You can also use a brown eye liner. While applying the cream base, try to create a straight line from the outer portion of the eye to the inner portion as shown in the picture. Do not go beyond your mobile lid and do not apply to the inner corners of the eye.
Step 3: This is the most important step of the makeup. Take a good blending brush and blend all the harsh edges of the cream brown base. I have used Mac 217 to nicely blend the edges of the base to achieve the smoky look. Spend as much time possible on this step.
Step 4: Apply a shimmery bronze eye shadow to the inner 2/3rds of the eye, leaving the outer V of the eye. I have used Coastal Scents Hot Pot in Amber Bronze. The shimmery shadow placed on the lid will make your eyes look bigger. Since we had not applied the cream base to the inner corners, this shimmery eye shadow will also serve as a tear duct highlighter. Blend the edges of this shadow as well to create a seamless look.
Step 5: Apply the cream brown base on the lower lash line as well. Smudge the base slightly and apply the shimmery bronze shadow on the inner portion of the lash line.
Step 6: Line your upper lids using a matte black eye pencil. I have used Bourjois Khol & Contour eye pencil in Ultra Black as it is easily smudged.
Step 7: Smudge the black line on your upper lid by using an angular blender. This will give the ultimate sultry look to the makeup, instead of a clean black line.
Step 8: Apply the same kohl to your lower water line and upper tightline.
Step 9: Apply any off-white matte shadow to the brow bone. This step is important as it will highlight the brow bone and make the eye look more dimensional. I have used Coastal Scents Hot Pot in Powder Pink. Do not use a shimmery highlight here.
Step 10: Curl your lashes and apply a volumizing mascara. If required, you can apply false eyelashes.
This is the final look.
Apply a light colored lipstick and slightly contour your cheeks for the complete face makeup.
I have tried to keep the eye look as simple as possible. You can always add more eye shadows to further intensify the look. Do try it and let me know how do you like it.
