Beauty Blender Tips & Tricks

Preparing Your Beauty Blender for Base Makeup Application

First of all, as per beauty experts, the best way to use your Beauty Blender is to wet in under running water. On getting totally wet, it grows to double it’s size and very bouncy and flexible to use. Squeeze out all the excess water and now your beauty blender is ready to use.

All complexion products, especially, foundation is really fun to apply with beauty blender. There are two tricks to apply the foundation using your beauty blender.

  • Put a dab of foundation on the back of your hand and dab the wider side of your Beauty Blender into that dollop of foundation. Next, dab and bounce the Beauty Blender all along your face to deposit the product evenly and seamlessly on your face.
  • The other way to cause even less wastage of product is to apply multiple dots of foundation on your face using your fingertips and then using the Beauty Blender to merge the dots together. In areas where you need more coverage, apply the dots more closely together. This would give an even more natural, airbrushed finish.

You can also use your lipstick as a cheek stain by dabbing some lip color on the back of your hand and then, dabbing your beauty blender in it. Now use the blender on the apple of your cheeks in a gentle patting fashion to deposit a healthy flush of color across your cheeks. In a similar way, you can apply cream based blushes, too.

Tips for Using Dry Beauty Blender

Beauty blender tips & tricks 1

The dry Beauty Blender can be used to apply setting powder or compact powder over your foundation to set it and thus prolonging it’s stay and to give you better coverage too. Similarly, you can apply illuminator or highlighter using the Beauty Blender. The saturation of colour is buildable.

Dry Beauty Blender also acts as a buff/ eraser. If by mistake, you end up applying more saturation of bronzer or blush on, there is no need to panic as dry Beauty Blender can be dragged on the area where you have applied more product to subtle down the color.

Tips for Cleaning and Disinfecting Your Beauty Blender

In a bowl full of cleanser-water solution, soak your Beauty Blender for around 30 minutes. The cleanser used can be the commercially available blender cleanser or any face wash/ baby shampoo of your liking. If you wish, you can also add some disinfectant solution that is skin friendly like Dettol. After soaking, wring out all that you can and then hold the Beauty Blender under running water with squeezing intermittently till soap suds stop coming out. Once the water runs clear you can leave your Beauty Blender to air dry. You can do this once weekly.
