10 Yogurt or Curd Face Packs for Any Skin Type

Curd or yogurt is a delicious & highly nutritious food loaded with the goodness of various multi-vitamins. Yogurt aids in digestion and provides minerals such as calcium & zinc for stronger bones & teeth. But not just to eat, yogurt has a wide ranging beauty benefits when applied topically on the skin. It is said that Cleopatra from ancient Egypt used to take yogurt bath to keep her skin glowing and youthful. Not only in Egypt, yogurt was used for skin and hair care in ancient India as well.

Yogurt contains zinc and lactic acid. Zinc helps to alleviate acne and pimple and also aids in cell reproduction. Lactic acid exfoliates and moisturizes dry skin. It is rich in B vitamins and calcium which work towards keeping skin glowing and hydrated. Clearly, yogurt is a wonderful beauty aid that should be a part of our daily skin care. We can easily make a number of yogurt face packs with ingredients readily available in our kitchen. In this article you will find out ten very easy, homemade yogurt face packs to flaunt a glowing, healthy and beautiful skin.

  1. Yogurt and Oatmeal face pack (all skin types)

This face pack improves skin texture and color as well as prevents wrinkles & freckles. Take equal quantities of finely grounded oatmeal and yogurt and mix them very well. Add a few drops of honey. Apply the pack on the face, leave it for 15-20 minutes and wash it off. Use it thrice a week.

  1. Avocado, Olive oil and Yogurt face pack for dry skin

Take half an avocado and mash it well. Take a tea-spoon of olive oil and 3-4 teaspoon of yogurt and mix them with the mashed avocado. Apply the pack, allow it to stay for 15 minutes and wash it off. This is a great anti-ageing face pack. It effectively cures fine lines, wrinkles and dryness of the skin. Use twice/thrice a week.

  1. Yogurt, saffron and besan face pack

Soak 10-12 saffron strands overnight in two tablespoons of yogurt. Next morning, mix it up and add 1-2 teaspoon of besan and the pack is ready to use. This pack can be used on all types of skin and it is one of the best homemade anti tan face pack.

  1. Yogurt, carrot and lime juice face pack (all skin types)

Take one carrot and grate it finely. Take 2 tablespoon of yogurt and make a fine paste by adding the grated carrots, few drops of honey, juice of half lime and a small smashed ripe banana. Apply it all over the face and neck, allow it to dry and wash it off. Use it thrice a week for glowing, moisturized and flawless skin.

  1. Yogurt, besan and milk face pack for all skin types

Take a tablespoon of yogurt and mix it with 2 teaspoon of besan. Add a few drops of honey and milk each and you are done. Apply the pack on face and neck, leave it for 20 minutes and rinse off. From treating dry skin to controlling acne, this paste of besan and yogurt works wonders on all skin types.

  1. Yogurt and Tomato face pack for all skin types

This pack combines the moisturizing properties of yoghurt with the skin brightening qualities of tomatoes. Mix one tomato pulp with a teaspoon of honey and yoghurt and prepare a fine paste. Apply the paste on the face, keep it for 15-20 minutes and wash it off.

  1. Yogurt, strawberry and carrot face pack for acne prone skin

Take ¼ cup of strawberries and mash it up. Take equal quantity of yogurt and mix it well with the mashed strawberries. Steam a carrot and mash it and mix it with the yogurt and strawberry paste. This is a great face pack to control acne because of the salicylic acid present in the strawberries and the antiseptic properties of carrot. Also the lactic acid present in yoghurt help to dissolve cells that clog pores and might cause break-outs.

  1. Yogurt and apple face pack (all skin types)

Take an apple, peel it and then grate it. Now, mix this grated apple with a tablespoon of yogurt and honey and the pack is ready to use. Apply it on the face, allow it to dry and wash it off. Frequent use of this pack can lead to smoother, brighter skin.

  1. Yogurt, turmeric powder and sandalwood powder face pack for treating acne

Mix two tablespoon of yogurt with half teaspoon of turmeric powder and sandalwood powder each. Add a few drops of honey and make a smooth paste. This is a great face pack for treating acne, pimples. Yogurt and honey give moisturized, glowing and youthful skin.

  1. Yoghurt, egg white, banana and besan face pack

Combine 1 egg white with 2 tablespoon of yogurt, 1 teaspoon of besan and 1 small smashed banana. Make a thick and smooth paste. Apply this on face, let it dry and rinse it off. This is a great skin tightening face pack. Regular application of this pack helps to achieve healthy, soft and glowing skin.

So yogurt is a wonderful element in Mother Nature’s kitty, which is an answer to all our skin related issues.
